Join the Empire, It's mandatory

So then there is time for another blogg post. So lately I have been working on a Star Wars inspired VFX short film with 3 other people, Odin Hultgren van der Horst, Sondre Hoff Werner and Bjørnar Borge.

I was mainly a 3d modeler on this project.

I made a Stormtrooper from scratch.

I also made the Tie Fighters.

Odin Hultgren van der Horst took my model afterwards and gave it some new wings to make it a Tie interceptor and to add a bit of variation.

AT-AT Target, some of the idea with this model was to have something sturdy enough to take repeated direct hits from a AT-AT, so I gave it a sort of damper system. Really simple model but I hope it serves its purpose in the film.

I also did the composition and animation on the AT-AT walker

I have also done a lot of little things in the other shots, the movie did not turn out as good as i had hoped but still not the worse considering its the first time I attempt VFX.

The Cg crayon has arived

Who is the Cg Crayon you might ask?
Well it's me Svein Otto Vesteng, a 24 year old Student of 3D and arts and I started this blogg to show of my work, as well as trying to attract potential customers.

First of let me show you my process for updating one of my old models, i just have a soft spot for this old alien of mine ^^

Started out with some concept art to try and update the design and to figure out a color scheme I liked.

I then wen't into ZBrush and started blokking out the shapes with ZSpheres.

After some initial sculpting I Retopologized the model.

Did a little Paint over after doing a little texture painting to find a good outfit design for the character.

I finished the texturing and might work some more on the model after finishing up some commission work.

I decided to do some free commission work on a Star Wars forum since I am quite fond of Aliens and I need a portfolio gallery, the first one out is a Nautolan from the Star Wars Universe.

Haven't gotten to far yet but its coming along stay tuned for updates on my work.
